Fourth of July Parade

Hurray, once again, the 4th of July Celebration is happening!

Tuesday, July 4th at 11 am in Stanwood at the west.
This is our 44th year for a parade & “Old Fashioned” Ice Cream Social.
Children, adults, scouts, firefighters, veterans, and all interested groups are invited to be in the parade. Bring your horses, antique cars, fire trucks, floats, or wagons.

  • 10:30 am—Parade participants should meet at the Josephine Caring Community parking lot on the 4th at 10:30 am.
  • 11:00 am- Parade and festivities begin including a costume contest for children with the best costume depicting the following themes: historical, patriotic, or 4th of July.
  • 11:30 a.m – 12:30 – Short program and presentation of the awards at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center. The winners will receive award certificates and prize money at the end of the ice cream social program at the Floyd.

Our Ice Cream Social will include ice cream with strawberries, popsicles, lemonade, and coffee.  Don’t miss the children’s games with prizes on the Pearson House Lawn.
All refreshments are free.

Memorial Day program will be held at the Anderson Cemetery on Monday, May 29th at 11 am.

Join us this Memorial Day to honor the fallen veteran heroes of this area.
Ceremonies will be at the Anderson Cemetery on Monday May 29, 2023 beginning at 11 a.m. (7630 Pioneer Hwy, Stanwood, WA 98292)

This event is sponsored by the Stanwood American Legion
Post #92 and the Stanwood Veterans Memorial.
The special keynote address will be presented by Captain Joshua Menzel, Commanding Officer, Naval Station Everett.  The names of the 50 veterans lost from the Stanwood/Camano area in American conflicts will be read and remembered.  The Stanwood High School band will provide patriotic music and the ceremony will conclude with a 21-gun salute and Taps.
The American Legion Post #92 welcomes veterans, family and friends for lunch after the ceremony.

The Stanwood Veterans Memorial honors local veterans who died during an American conflict and has a Veterans Wall for all veterans living or dead who served in war or peace and there are over 255 engraved bricks on the wall which helps raise funds for maintenance. This memorial is lit at night, is open all the time and is located at 27112 102nd Ave. on the campus of the Stanwood Area Historical Society.
