R. 532.\u00a0 It had three houses behind it and the large Stanwood Lumber Co to the southwest. .<br \/>\nAccording to the 1910 Anderson Plat book of Snohomish County, there was a jail behind this building and it was labeled &#8220;Court Room and Jail&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It was located at the corner of Oliver (102nd Dr) and Irvine Street (270th St NW)<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2737\" style=\"width: 236px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sahs-fncc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/StreetOliverIrvine300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2737\" class=\"wp-image-2737\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sahs-fncc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/StreetOliverIrvine300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"226\" height=\"132\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2737\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Oliver was the first homesteader here whose land became Stanwood. Irvine owned the Thompson House before S. A. Thompson and had a ranch just east of the Oliver land.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sahs-fncc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_0901cityhall2010_600.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2729 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sahs-fncc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_0901cityhall2010_600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sahs-fncc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_0901cityhall2010_600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.sahs-fncc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/IMG_0901cityhall2010_600-300x147.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cnew\/current\u201d Stanwood City Hall building was completed in 1936 and was a special project of 5-term Mayor Charles Dockendorf. It was partially funded by the Work Progress Administration (WPA).
