Historic Plaque Program

Plaque for our Tolin House, SAHS Tour Office

The are many old buildings and wonderful eclectic storefronts in the Stanwood area.  To recognize them and promote the preservation of more of our historic buildings, SAHS has established its Historic Plaque Program.  We will be trying to identify the buildings and interpret their histories to help learn more about why they are unique.  We appreciate the assistance and cooperation of building owners who have begun this process with us and hope to find more volunteers to help us research.  Currently it is focusing around the historical center of town at the intersection of 102nd Ave and 270th St (Market and Main St) but if you are interested, visit us on Wednesday afternoons to talk about helping to expand it.

This program is also collaborating with Camano Historic Sites Tour which will have an open house weekend April 7 and 8 2018.

Note: There are dozens of historic residences in the area as well but they are not on this list unless permanently converted to commercial uses.
